CLASSIFICATION  SOCIETIES

The company underwater services Ippokampos Diving Co has acquired approvals from all the class inspection societies (IACS) validated from the Greek legislation.

The International Association of Classification Societies, (International Association of Classification Societies – IACS) consists of ten internationally recognized classification societies, based in London.

The main object of the association is the level of ship safety, categorizing them into classes as well as the measures for conservation of clean seas form the risk of pollution from these ships. The contribution of this international union in maritime security in general, but also in the regulation through collective technical support, control – compliance, and research and development is very important.

Today the IACS, which is a non-governmental organization, is the main partner with an advisory character, in an observatory position of the International Maritime Organization (IMO). Through this the various directives by IMO are issued.
